Because I work for a federally recognized non-profit we were not allowed to watch or listen to the inauguration at work (it would violate our non-profit status and we would lose both the certification we need and ALL our funding). That sucks, but someone brought a tv in and a bunch of my coworkers went and watched it on their lunch breaks in a conference room. I however listened to it on NPR as I was driving around a city called "East Cleveland". The irony is, that as inspired as I was by President Obama's inauguration speech I couldn't help but feel a bit of despair wondering if all the poverty and blight I saw around me as I drove through that city would see any change in the next four years. Time will tell.
